The Event

The Search is a philosophy Rip Curl has believed in and practised every day since the company’s creation at Bells Beach over 30 years ago.

In 2005 we acquired a first-of-its-kind Floating License to run an annual ‘Search World Tournament’ – a professional men’s contest that will travel around the globe and take our planet’s best surfers to some of the world’s most unique waves.

June 2007 will see the third annual running of the Rip Curl Pro Search. It is event 4 of 10 on this year’s Foster’s ASP Men’s World Tour calendar and the second of Rip Curl’s top level events.

The Rip Curl Pro at Bells Beach is world surfing’s most prestigious contest and the innovation of the Rip Curl Pro Search helps illustrates Rip Curl’s strong support of professional surfing and competition surfing.
